Roadworks in Leicester: w/c 27th January 2008

Date: 25th January 2008

New work starting this week:

- Sanvey Gate: gully connection works. Road closed between Northgate Street and Craven Street, from 6am-6pm on Saturday (2nd) and Sunday (3rd).  Local diversions in place.

- Ash Street: carriageway resurfacing works. Road closed, also at Beech Street between Hammercliffe Road and Forest Road, from Monday (28th).

On-going work:

- Hamelin Road: traffic calming works. Road closed between Winstanley Drive and Gooding Avenue, with restrictions as required.

- Forest Road: carriageway resurfacing works. Road closed between Humberstone Road and Frisby Road, and from Monday (28th) between Willowbrooke Road and Prestwold Road.  Diversions in place.

- Vernon Street and Nugent Street: building works. One-way at junction with Tudor Road.   

- Granby Street: city centre improvement works. Road closed between Bishop Street and Halford Street, with various changes to restrictions in the area.

- Melton Road: gas main works. Outbound lane closures as required between Loughborough Road and Checketts Road.

- East Park Road: water main works. Closures and restrictions as required in the St Stephens area.

- Gipsy Lane: water main works. Various minor road closures as required in area.

- Midland Street: building works. Road closed between Nichols Street and Morledge Street.   

- Bath Lane: carriageway works. Road closed between Welles Street and St Augustine’s Road.

- Copdale Road: water main works. Road closed.

- Upperton Road: rebuilding viaduct works. Lane closures and restrictions on and around Upperton Road and Swan Bridge, as required.

- Oxford Street: major junction improvement works. Various restrictions including Newarke Street, Southgates Underpass and in The Magazine area.

- Yarmouth Street: Thames Tower refurbishment works. Various restrictions as required, including Thames Street and Navigation Street.

- Berners Street: building works. One-way system in place, including Wilson Street and Melbourne Street. Diversions in place.

- Shires development: work at Freeschool Lane and Causeway Lane. Road closures as required on Freeschool Lane, Long Lane, Highcross Street and Shires Lane; and from Causeway Lane, one-way towards Vaughan Way from East Bond Street, and East Bond Street towards Causeway Lane. Diversions in place.

Please note that emergency situations may require work schedules to be changed at short notice.
