CN(.中国) domain international application succeeded after ten year approved by ICANN and .CN(.中国) domain is about to enter global startup period.



CNNIC announced today, simplified/traditional Chinese .CN(.中国) domain names have gone through fast channel examination and approval of ICANN, Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers.



The world top level domain of pure Chinese's technical research and application has taken ten years. Since 1998, CNNIC has started to research Chinese .CN(.中国) domains, and make two Internet international standards. QiLin, CNNIC assistant director, said "simplified/traditional Chinese country code top-level domain names .CN(.中国) in international Internet has entered the countdown."



Application of .CN(.中国) domain name has been formally submitted to internation on 16th November 2009, and got great support from established internet enterprises like Microsoft, Baidu, Alibaba, Taobao, Tencent via site autograph. By 2010, April 22, ICANN passed a resolution, simplified/traditional Chinese .CN(.中国) domain names gained fast channel examination and approval.



QiLin revealed ".CN(.中国) domains will enter into 'Technology Deployment Stage', the expected future months, Chinese netizens worldwide will be able to use pure Chinese domain name extention .CN(.中国) access to the Internet."



.CN(.中国) domain names have ever been faced with only applying either simplified Chinese domain or traditional Chinese domain. "Due to the different language system, and the fact of simplified Chinese domain is used with traditional Chinese domain, it is difficult for evaluation institutions to understand this point, and they also worried about the unity of the existing technology, Internet experts indicated, "At last, under the joint efforts of CNNIC technical experts and Chinese Internet community, all doubts from evaluation institutions were eliminated."



So far, more than ninety percent of national and provincial government agencies, more than ninety-five percent of media news websites, more than ninety percent of the national 211 key universities, more than fifty percent of the top 100 enterprises in China and more than forty percent of the top 500 enterprises in China are already gradually opening .CN(.中国) domain name.
