Detectives from the city centre are appealing for witnesses after a 28-year-old man was robbed.
The incident took place at about 12.40am on Friday May 27 on New Walk, Leicester when the victim was approached by a man on a bicycle.
As he passed the victim he grabbed his Apple iPhone, the victim raised the alarm and shouted stop thief but the offender rode off towards the city centre.
Detective Constable Jonathan Davies is investigating the incident, he said: “There were a number of people in the area around the time of the incident and the victim did shout out for somebody to stop the thief, if you heard anything or you witnessed the incident please get in touch.
“I would also appeal to anyone who saw a man acting suspiciously or riding around the area to contact us.
“A 40-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and released on police bail pending further enquiries but we are still keen to speak to anyone who can help with our enquiries. Any information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, could assist with our investigation.
