e words 'under God'.
Canada
The oath of citizenship is in English:
I swear (or affirm) that I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to
Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, Queen of Canada, Her Heirs and Successor
s, and that I will faithfully observe the Laws of Canada and fulfill my
duties as a Canadian citizen.
New Zealand
I [name] swear that I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to Her M
ajesty Queen Elizabeth the Second, Queen of New Zealand, Her heirs and s
uccessors according to law, and that I will faithfully observe the laws
of New Zealand and fulfill my duties as a New Zealand citizen. So help m
e God.
Singapore
I, [name], do solemnly swear that I will be faithful,
and bear true allegiance to the Republic of Singapore,
and that I will observe the laws and be a true,
loyal and faithful citizen of Singapore,
so help me God.
United Kingdom
I, [name], [swear by Almighty God] [do solemnly, sincerely and t
ruly affirm and declare] that, on becoming a British citizen, I will be
faithful and bear true allegiance to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, her
heirs, and successors, according to law.
Since 1 January 2004, applicants for British citizenship are also requir
ed to make a Pledge to the United Kingdom as follows:
I will give my loyalty to the United Kingdom and respect its rights and
freedoms. I will uphold its democratic values. I will observe its laws f
aithfully and fulfil my duties and obligations as a British citizen.
United States
I hereby declare, on oath, that I absolutely and entirely renounce and a
bjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign prince, potentate, stat
e, or sovereignty of whom or which I have heretofore been a subject or c
itizen; that I will support and defend the Constitution and laws of the
United States of America against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that
I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I will bear arm
s on behalf of the United States when required by law; that I will perfo
rm noncombatant service in the armed forces of the United States when re
quired by the law; that I will perform work of national importance under
civilian direction when required by the law; and that I take this oblig
ation freely without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; so he
