A man has been ordered to pay £170 in fines and court costs for flicking a cigarette end into an alleyway.
John Edwards (22), of Forest Court, Walnut Street, Leicester, pleaded guilty before city magistrates to dropping litter in Church Gate on July 13 last year.
Katherine Jamieson, for Leicester City Council, said Edwards was spotted by a litter warden and given a fixed-penalty notice ordering him to pay £80 within 14 days.
Edwards said: "I just flicked it down the alleyway as I was going for a haircut, and was followed upstairs by two men.
"I lost the pink slip they gave me. I would have paid the fixed penalty and have the money in my pocket right now to pay it."
He was fined £80, ordered to pay £75 costs and make a £15 contribution to help victims of crime.作者: sss 时间: 2008-1-26 23:39
