RESTAURANT SHUT AFTER MICE FOUND

A Chinese restaurant has been shut after health inspectors found evidence of mice.
Inspectors were alerted to Flame, in Granby Street, Leicester, by a customer who reported seeing vermin.
Officials from Leicester City Council's Environmental Health department closed the premises after an inspection at around 6.40pm on Thursday.
David Barclay Rhodes, the council's food safety team manager, said: "The officers found evidence of mice activity throughout all the food areas and poor cleaning and disinfection procedures.
"They felt it was sufficiently a risk to enforce an emergency prohibition notice closing the business immediately."
The matter will now go before Leicester magistrates' on Monday.
Mr Rhodes said: "We will review the situation over the weekend.
"The city council will be pursuing a court order to keep the business shut unless improvements are made to our satisfaction.
"If it has been cleaned up and disinfected then the owner will be allowed to reopen and we will be looking for confirmation from the court that officers acted appropriately."
A notice has been placed on the entrance of the restaurant stating the reasons why it has been shut. |
